Here’s a gorgeous poster on how reading transforms your kids.
It was created by Mike Anderick for the Denver-based non-profit organization, Burning Through Pages.
BTP helps kids join book clubs in their communities (run by volunteers and other kids), launch new book clubs in their communities, or interact one-on-one with a BTP volunteer. They help kids experience literature on whatever level makes them comfortable, excited and reading, reading, reading!
Here’s more about the group: “the literature assigned by public and private schools, while important, contains dated prose and often antiquated ideals. While the classics are classics for a reason, they are not always easily relatable to the current generation reading them. That’s where we come in. We are here to introduce new and updated literature to Denver’s youth. We buy books, give them away, and take the time to talk about them.”
Seeing the posters gets us all excited. How many books have you read since January? We know that reading is an escape from reality. From the minute you open the cover and start reading, you explore a different world–one with mystery, intrigue and adventure.
