Michael Chabon, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of “The Adventures of Kavalier and Clay” and “The Yiddish Policeman”s Union” took a shot at his first picture book. Geared toward children aged 4-7, “The Astonishing Secret of Awesome Man” will delight readers and comic fans of all ages.
The plot: A kid with a red cape that can shoot positronic rays out of his eyeballs and a trusty sidekick, Moskowitz the Awesome Dog who both try to save the world.
Awesome Man can fly as straight as an arrow, use his trademark Awesome Power Grip to stop runaway freight trains and even hug mutant Jell-O! Even villains like Professor Von Evil and the Flaming Eyeball are no match for this caped crusader.
But Awesome Man also has a secret. . . .
