The world may be mourning Steve Jobs’s loss but his legacy remains. Apple is one of the most successful companies of all time.
Some handy trivia… Did you know that the first Apple logo depicts Isaac Newton sitting under a tree, an apple dangling precipitously above his head. The phrase on the outside border reads, “Newton… A Mind Forever Voyaging Through Strange Seas of Thought … Alone.” This was designed in 1976 by Apple co-founder, Ronald Wayne.
Then came the rainbow logo from 1976-1998. Steve Jobs was not too pleased with the Newton logo so he asked Rob Janoff to come up with something modern. “According to Janoff, the “bite” in the Apple logo was originally implemented so that people would know that it represented an apple, and not a tomato. It also lent itself to a nerdy play on words (bite/byte), a fitting reference for a tech company.” So it’s come to this:
And then came the monochrome Apple logo when Steve Jobs moved back into Apple after 1997. Now this logo is universally recognizable and works really well with everything Mac.
Check out these fun iPad stickers. Aren’t you just glad that they changed the logo? 🙂
